First and foremost we believe that learning should be fun. We provide a stimulating environment both inside or out, encouraging children to learn and explore, to use their imaginations and to develop. Our nursery staff are qualified to plan for each individual child using the Early Years Foundation Stage.
The purpose of The Early Years Foundation Stage is to provide all children from birth to five with the best possible start in life, helping build and develop firm foundations which will help them to reach their full potential.
Although the children within in our care are very young it is important to provide them with many varied play and learning opportunities to promote and develop all aspects of their development. To achieve this our staff plan around the six areas of learning, these are,
- • Personal, social and emotional development
- • Communication, language and literacy
- • Knowledge and understanding of the world
- • Physical development
- • Creative development
- • Problem solving, reasoning and numeracy.
Our staff will plan activities and learning opportunities to promote all of the above areas of learning, encourage the children to experience, develop and build strong foundations. All the experiences are gained through play and exploration. These activities may take place within the nursery or its play area or we may go further afield to the local shop or church, we also learn through our many nature walks and also our very own allotment.
